Frequently Asked Questions

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a technique using a hand tool with a blade of needles and cosmetic tattoo pigments. Individual hairstrokes are implanted in the epidermis and mimics the natural hair pattern.

Does it hurt?

It really varies depending on the client’s pain tolerance. However, I provide medical grade anesthetics (5% lidocaine) throughout the appointment to help with any discomfort. Having the procedure during your menstrual cycle may increase your sensitivity.

How long does it last?

Permanent cosmetics typically lasts up to 1-2 years depending on the client’s skin, age, metabolism, medications and lifestyle. I recommend coming in every year to maintain your permanent make up.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Please avoid caffeine, alcohol, or any blood thinners before your appointment.

NO Botox, fillers, microdermabrasion, chemical peels or Retin-A products near the brow area or anything of the like for at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment, and also 2 weeks after.

How long is healing time?

Your brows will go through different phases for 2 weeks after receiving treatment. The first 3 days will be very dark then it will begin to flake and peel. It’s important that during this time you follow your aftercare instructions to the T and always trust the process.

How long does the procedure take?

The microblading procedure takes up to 2 hours. Powder/Ombre brows can sometimes take up to 3 hours. This includes filling out consent forms, before and after photos, brow shaping, numbing, pigment masking, microblading and machine work.

How do you choose a color?

Skin tones and under tones play a huge part in color selection. As well as hair color, natural brow hair and of course, personal preference! We will choose a color together and pick one that we are both comfortable with.

When should I schedule my touch up?

A follow up appointment is recommended at 6-8 weeks where we can assess your pigment retention and make any changes necessary. The procedure is not complete until you come back for the second session. It is a two step process and the finished results won’t be until you are completely healed after the touch up. Yearly touch ups are recommended.

I’ve had my brows tattooed before. Can you fix/touch them up?

I require that anyone who has had their brows tattooed previously by another artist send me a photo. We can discuss your options. Any client coming to me from a different artist is considered a new client, with full prices.
